Dr. Henry Philofsky Medical Director & Psychiatrist
I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who works with adolescents and adults facing a wide range of emotional and psychiatric challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, attention disorders, OCD, and personality disorders. I’m especially interested in understanding each person’s internal world and helping them make sense of patterns that may feel overwhelming or difficult to change.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Clinical Senior Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (starting July 2026), where I conduct research in bioinformatics and computational psychiatry. This work reflects my broader interest in how biology, data, and lived experience come together in mental health.
I earned my B.A. from Columbia University and my M.D. from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed my residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center. My training has also included advanced work in psychodynamic psychiatry at the Austin Riggs Center, where I was honored to receive the 2025 Austin Riggs Award for Excellence in Psychotherapy, as well as additional training in sports psychiatry through the International Society for Sports Psychiatry.
